Saturday 18th August 2012 – Minsterley Show
The weather was very kind to the show this year as we gathered for the day. The previous few days had been wet, so the ground was slippery to start, but the sun came out and the land dried quickly.
The Show attracted a bumper attendance, with so many other county shows having to be cancelled, meaning that both car parks were full by lunch time.
The Deanery Tent was amongst the trade stands, opposite a financial advice company. As we did last time, we gave away small cakes to those passing by, and managed to engage with quite a lot. Some people found the concept of free cakes very hard to understand, but there was no catch, they were free.
We started with a great number of cakes, thank you to all who donated them, and it seemed that we would have to take some home, but the huge numbers at the show meant that they were all gone by 2.30!
Thank you also to those who gave their time to be at the tent, it was really good that we had a good number for most of the time. A fellow stall holder told me he was envious at the number of people in our tent. It certainly generated a friendly atmophere.
This was an excellent day with many contacts made. Make sure you have next year in your diary! (17 August 2013)
